He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilford Alfonso and Katie Clark Hughes Simpson; and his siblings, Lee, Alex, Johnny, Frank Simpson, Sarah Simmons, Iris Hannah and Nancy Roach.
He is survived by: his children, Lamar Simpson (Nancy) of Greenville and Fay Sprouse (Billy) of Ware Shoals; his grandchildren, Ashley Floyd (Ryan), Sarah Polson (Jonathan), Laura Catlett (Jay), Elizabeth DeVier (Mitch), Lydia Nichols (Jared), Butler Sprouse (Kara) and Stacey Bass (Johnathan); his great grandchildren, Aiden Doyle (Madison), Anna, Brantlee, Deacon, Emma, Lily, William, Ben, Davis and Henry; his great great grandchild Raelee; and his great grandchildren, Jack and Hazel.
