We are sad to announce that on July 16, 2023, at the age of 89, Burton W. Lanier of West Columbia, South Carolina, born in Metter, Georgia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Wallace Lanier and Ruby Lanier; his former wife Tina Hickson Lanier; his siblings, Glynn Edward Lanier and Theresa Lanier Akins; his sister-in-law Henrietta Lee Lanier; and his stepson Kent Robert Gregory.

He is survived by: his wife Joyce Lanier; his children, Richard Burton Lanier (Wendye), Linda Lanier Padgett (Dale) and Cheryl Lanier Gregory (Kevin); his stepsons, Michael Frederick Gregory (Lisa) and Kevin Guy Gregory (Cheryl); and his brother Lonnie Brinson Lanier. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; along with thirteen grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren.
