He is survived by: his daughter Rachael MacDonald (Phil); his grandchildren, Raelyn and Jackson MacDonald of Longs, SC; his son Russell Heafner (Christie Collins) of Pawleys Island, SC.; and his siblings, Michael Heafner (Regina) of Lexington, SC, Fred Heafner (Darlene) of Boger City, NC, Catherine Day (Mike) of Olive Branch, MS, Jodena Love (Donald) of Oakboro, NC and Jennie Shumpert (Dwane) of West Columbia, SC..
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 13th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Betty G. Ross Park (800 Madison St, Lincolnton, NC 28092).
