She was predeceased by: her parents, Melvin Spires and Ida Belle Spires; her husband Robert; and her siblings, Lamar Jeffcoat, Clarence Spires, Ruth Spires and Linda Chavis.
She is survived by: her children, Randy Chavis (Carolyn), Sherry Turner (Carol), Leroy Chavis (Laura) and Rene Chavis (Ricky); her sister Brinda Browder; and her grandchildren, Mandy Brad (Marc), Melody, Robin, Terri (Robert), Mickey, Kenzie (Dalton), Bryan (Michelle) and Felicia (Matthew). She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in her memory to West Side Holiness Church, 527 Augusta Street, West Columbia, SC 29169.
