He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruby Bradley Norris and William Leander Chase; his siblings, Danny Chase and Brenda Sue Whitten; and his son David Lee Chase, Jr..
He is survived by: his sons, Christopher Lee Barnes (Debbie) of Irmo and Jerald David Chase of Alabama; his siblings, Jimmy Chase of West Columbia, Deborah Hall of Pelion and Kathy Hanchett of West Columbia; and his close friend Rose Chase Moates of Santee. He is also survived by two grandsons, three great-grandchildren, and multiple nieces and nephews.
