He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Paton; his son Scott (Becky) of Lyman, SC; and his grandchildren, Victoria Somero (Austin) of Landrum, SC, Jennifer Clontz (Joseph) of Spartanburg, SC and Scottie Paton of Lyman, SC. He is also survived by three great grandchildren.
