She was predeceased by : her parents, Hildegard Cappelmann Mehrtens and William Rieppe Mehrtens. She is survived by : her children, Carol Williams, Joan Frierson, Ramsay Garrison Latimer, Jr. and Loretta Shaffer.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church (1000 B Ave, West Columbia, SC 29169). Visitation was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location.
