He is survived by : his wife Janet; his children, John Singleton, Jr., Hunter Singleton and Taylor Laughren (Richard); his parent Emma Klbecka; his brother Gary Singleton (Christina); and his stepchildren, Stacy Austin (Wanda), Paul Austin and Quentin Austin. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Sunday, May 5th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Southland Memorial Gardens (820 W Dunbar Rd, West Columbia, SC 29170). A funeral service was held on Sunday, May 5th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.

BJ Gaston wrote a sympathy message

“I grew up with John Arthur on Dixieanna Dive in Gaston. I lived across the street. He was my 1st boyfriend. A lot of great memories we made and a lot of trouble we got into. There was one time when he got his moped that he my sister, myself and my brother all got on it and took off down Hwy 321 to the sand pits. My sympathy and prays are with you and your family. He was a really great person.”
