He was predeceased by: his parents, Evelyn Branham (Melvin) and Cromer Spires (Naomi); his wife Lorretta W. Spires; his children, Joseph Nathaniel Spires, Jr. and Cynthia Spires Ruonavaara; and his brothers, Melvin Branham and Maverick Branham.
He is survived by: his children, Bobby Glass, Terry Glass (Cathy), Cheryl Prosser (Kevin), Willie Glass (Kay), Bryan Spires (Kristie), Randy Spires and Juanita (Johnny).
