He was predeceased by: his parents, M. "Barney" Simpson and Zona Simpson. He is survived by: his wife Teri Simpson; his son Jason Simpson (Kari); his stepson Michael Powell (Christi); and his granddaughters, Madison and Kayla.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Fort Jackson National Cemetery (4170 Percival Rd, Columbia, SC 29229).
