He is survived by: his wife Louise McGraw Buxton; his children, William Gregory Buxton of Myrtle Beach, SC, Thomas Hamilton Buxton, Jr. of Chapin, SC, John Neyle Bennett, Jr. of Gilbert, SC, Kennard Prichard Buxton of Columbia, SC, Mary Katherine Anderson of Wagener, SC and Susan Louise Bennett of Lexington, SC; and his siblings, Trask Buxton (Washington, DC), Dr. Barry Buxton of Blowing Rock, NC, Anne B. Jones of Blowing Rock, NC, Dr. Mary B. Pearce of Charlotte, NC and Martha B. Johnson of Charlotte, NC.
A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the Providence Presbyterian Church (1112 Hummingbird Dr, West Columbia, SC 29169).
