We announce the death of Virgie Johnson of West Columbia, South Carolina, who passed away on June 26, 2026, at the age of 88. She was predeceased by: her parents, James D. Johnson Sr. and Janie Lucius; her siblings, Rhucline Johnson, Malba Gillings, Bernice Koger and Cleo Johnson; her siblings-in-law, Thelma Johnson, Emma Lee Johnson and Reverend D. E. L. Koger; and her friend Robert L. Rhem.
She is survived by: her son Frederick Rhem; her granddaughter Aryanna Rhem (Tiffany Nicholson); and her brothers, James Johnson, Jr. and Eugene Johnson. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends.
