She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald Milhoan and Ruth Bailey Milhoan; her son Charles Jospeh Grimstad; and her sister Patricia "Patty" Gould. She is survived by: her husband Mark Owen Schmiel; her children, Jack Negro, Marka Schmiel, Richard Grimstad, Donald Grimstead, Mary Grimstad and Daniel Grimstad; and her sisters, Lynn Tillman and Margaret "Peggy" Richardson. She is also survived by friends and fur babies she loved.
