With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gary Dean Blackwell of Westminster, South Carolina, who passed away on November 3, 2025 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Glenn Blackwell and Lorenia Carter Blackwell; and his brothers, Don Blackwell and Hal Blackwell. He is survived by: his wife Sue Nichols Blackwell of Westminster; his daughters, Rebekah L. Wardlaw (Scot) of Central, SC and Rachel B. Jones (Jake) of Holly Hill, SC; his siblings, Wade Blackwell, Ted Blackwell (Teri), Dan Blackwell (Rena), Terry Blackwell (Trish), Billy Blackwell (Hellen) and Elaine Rholetter (Larry); and his grandchildren, Cade Wardlaw, Ezra Jones and Ruth Jones.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 9th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Mt Pleasant Baptist Church (112 Mt Pleasant Rd, Westminster, SC 29693). A funeral service was held on Sunday, November 9th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Gary's memory may be made to Rocky Fork Baptist Church, 998 Rocky Fork Rd., Westminster, SC 29693, or to Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home, 4605 Belton Highway, Anderson, SC 29621.
