He was predeceased by : his wife Marlene Peeples McAlister; his parents, Garnett "Mac" McAlister and Ellen McAlister; and his siblings, Frank McAlister, Charles McAlister, James McAlister and Beaulah Chappell (Emily Bramlett).
He is survived by : his children, Danny Joe McAlister (Missy) and Linda McAlister (Jody); his granddaughter Marley Leann McAlister; and his sisters, Fannie Smith, Betty Barker and Martha Pelfrey.
