She was predeceased by : her husband Charles William McAlister; her parents, Bert Mitchell and Bessie Bates Blackwell; her daughters, Charlene and Arlene; and her siblings, Mitch Blackwell, Clem Blackwell, Charles Blackwell, B. H. Blackwell, Bertie Mae Owens, Ethel Roach and Eleanor Johnson.

She is survived by : her daughter Denise Hill of Westminster; her siblings, Raymond Blackwell, Mike Blackwell, Marie Weaver and Pauline Boyd; her grandchildren, Nikki Howard and Laura Taylor; and her great grandchildren, Jasmine Dorsey, Katlyn Dorsey, Logan Charles Dorsey and Skylar Sanford. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
