He was predeceased by: his wife Patsy Marie McCrackin Suttles; his parents, Luther Gaston and Alice Rochester Suttles; his son Christopher Michael Suttles; and his sisters, Linda Jean Suttles LaFaille and Katherine Lee.
He is survived by: his daughter Lisa Hellams (Chris); and his stepchildren, Angie Duncan (Brian), Marsha Chambers (Michael) and Jeff Stephens (Jan). He is also survived by nine grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
