He was predeceased by: his parents, Roscoe Philyaw and Bernice Holloway Philyaw; his former wife Sandra Louise Root Philyaw; his children, Bert Ivan Hamilton, Wanda Jean Philyaw and Audrey Ann Philyaw; and his siblings, Wayne Philyaw and June Peaves.
He is survived by: his wife Evie Lee Philyaw; his children, Jerry Lee Hamilton, Otis Alvin Hamilton, Paul Anthony Hamilton, Kim Jones and Terri Lynne Windisch; and his sister Carol. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Westminster Wesleyan Church (311 N Piedmont St, Westminster, SC 29693).
