He was predeceased by: his spouse Nicki Blackwell; his parents, William Glenn and Lorenia Bell Carter Blackwell; his former wife Donna Blackwell; his wife Shirley Blackwell; and his brothers, Don Blackwell (Carol), Hal Blackwell, Wayne Blackwell and Gary Blackwell.

He is survived by: his son Peter Wayne Blackwell; his stepdaughter Kathie Kirchenberg (Bob); his siblings, Ted Blackwell (Terri), Dan Blackwell (Rena), Terry Blackwell (Trish), Billy Blackwell (Hellen) and Elaine L. Rholetter (Larry); his sisters-in-law, Alice and Sue Blackwell; his grandchildren, Bowe Blackwell and Buck Blackwell; and his great grandchild Linda McDaniel. He is also survived by 4 step-grandchildren.
