He was predeceased by: his parents, William Benjamin Bennett Jr. and Sarah Finley Bennett. He is survived by: his wife Betty Bennett; his children, Allyson McDowell (Scott) of Simpsonville and Dennis Daniel Smith Jr. (Kristi) of Chesapeake, Virginia; his grandchildren, Bennett McDowell, Noah McDowell, Lauren Yoncey (Chase), Taylor Stratton (Michael), Sydney Smith and Cooper Smith; and his great grandchild Jane Stratton.
