Edgar Burgess Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Edgar Burgess of Williamston, South Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 22, 2025 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Clifton and Janie Ricketts Burgess; his siblings, Harrison, Clyde Burgess, Viola Bell and Virginia Scott; and his grandson Charles "Eddie" Tate.
He is survived by: his wife Gwendolyn Cooley Burgess; his children, Vinson "Sonny" Lyle (Rhonda) of Williamston, Wendell Burgess (Annette) of Anderson, Stacy Burgess of Williamston and Tonya Smith (Johnny) of Williamston; and his sister Noreen Rowe. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
