He was predeceased by: his parents, Enoch Elijah and Winnie Beam Rutledge; and his siblings, Enoch Rutledge, Waymon Rutledge of Verlan Swann, E. C and Ossie Lee Atchley.
He is survived by: his daughter Pamela R. Sims (Buck); his grandson Michael A. Sims; and his great grandchildren, Emma Rose Sims and Ethan Allen Sims.
