He was predeceased by: his wife Terri Chastain; his parents, Roy Earl Chastain, Sr. and Dorothy Gillian Chastain Ramsey; and his brother Rodger Chastain. He is survived by: his former wife Sybil Chastain Johnston; his children, Tracie Chastain Perkins (James) of Powder Springs, Hank Chastain (Angie) of Simpsonville, Jessica Chastain of Williamston and Zach Chastain of Black Mountain; his grandchildren, Nicole Hudson (Trent), Brooke Lee Mangle (Janike), Kinsley and Karsen Perkins; his great grandchildren, Maddie, Caden, Brielle Mangle, Cameron McCall, Hunter and Rylee Hudson; and his siblings, Ronnie, Steve Chastain and Debbie Chastain.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:45 PM at the Gray Mortuary (52 Main St, Pelzer, SC 29669). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Gray Mortuary Chapel (52 Main St, Pelzer, SC 29669). A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park (2609 US-29, Anderson, SC 29621).
