We announce the death of Gene Elkins (Williston, South Carolina), who passed away on September 17, 2026, at the age of 87. He was predeceased by: his parents, Freddie Anderson Elkins and Mary Olive Stevenson Elkins; his wife Corine Ingole Elkins; and his siblings, Myrtle Faglier, Elizabeth "Lib" Faulkner (Bill) and Freddie Allen Elkins (Mayblane).
He is survived by: his children, Scottie Wayne "Scott" Elkins (Shelby Sue) of Healing Springs and Debra Ann "Debbie" Moore of Kansas; his girlfriend Cornelia Dixon; his grandchildren, Anthony Elkins, Cassie, Michael, Tia and Patrick; his great grandchild Jacqueline Elkins; and his siblings, Jeanette Bomar (Bob) of Williston and Jimmy O. Elkins (Denise) of Williston. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Folk Funeral Home Chapel (170 Elko St, Williston, SC 29853). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. The military honors was held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at the Wilkinson Memorial Cemetery (1035 N Main St, Hillsville, VA 24343).
