With sadness, we share the passing of Joe Gunnells of Williston, South Carolina. Joe, born on March 5, 1942, passed away on September 25, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Randolph Gunnells and Ruby Higgs Gunnells; his wife Helen Sheryl Thompson Gunnells; his son Tony Odom; his grandson Seth Gainey; and his siblings, Dawson Gunnells, Laurie Gunnells, Vernon Gunnells, Melvin Gunnells, Elizabeth Ann Slater, Shirley Johnson and Marilyn Shealy.
He is survived by: his daughter Kym Gainey (Phil); his grandchildren, Summer and Jenna; his great grandchildren, Kaden, Xander, Dallas and Canyon; and his siblings, Claude Gunnells (Sandy), Carolyn Jowers (David) and Peggy Phillips. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Folk Funeral Home Chapel (170 Elko St, Williston, SC 29853). A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 4:30 PM at the Williston Cemetery (2600 Lake Dr, Williston, SC 29853).
