He is survived by : his children, Ann Durst and William Byars of Aiken; his brothers, Wallis Byars (Gwendolyn) of Oakwood, Kenneth Hamby (Terri) of Simpsonville and Robert Hamby of Montmorenci; his uncle Jimmie M. Byars; and his grandchildren, Christopher Durst, II (Chelsea), Cody Durst (Tiara), Logan Durst, Dixie Daughtrey, Kayla Durst, Hana Scott (Travis), Amaya Weaver (Charles Trey) and William Tanner Marshall. He is also survived by eight great grandchildren along with nieces and nephews.
