She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Thurman Claude Sims Sr. and Vashti Thigpen Sims; her nephew Robert Lewis "Brock" Joyner Jr.; her nieces, Roxanna Joyner Taylor and Kathryn "Casey" Welborn Snead; and her sister Elaine Humphries.
