She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Nelson and Annie Mae Stewart Gunter; her former husband Luther B. Anderson, Jr.; her husband Carroll Ligon; her sons, Steven Nelson Anderson, Donald Jeffrey Anderson and Anthony Stewart Anderson; and her granddaughter Rebacca Cassellas.
She is survived by: her son Barry Scott Anderson (Mary); her brothers, Moody Gunter (Nina) and Lindsey Gunter (Peggy); and her grandchildren, Ashley Suzanne Anderson, Catherine A. Anderson and Jeffery N. Anderson. She is also survived by five great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Dorcas' memory to Winnsboro First Church of the Nazarene.
