She was predeceased by: her parents, Luncford Blaydes and Margaret Ashford Lewis; her husband Carl Stanley Bates; and her sisters, Gladys Lewis Bass (Gary) and Loretta Lewis Corey (Jules).
She is survived by: her children, Hugh Bates (Daphne) and Rebecca Bates Jones (Stephen); her grandchildren, Josh Bates, Vivian Rebh (Chris), Rebecca Jones, Daniel Jones, Bates Jones and Ruthie Jones; and her great grandchild Maxine Renee Rebh. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
