Richard Adams Obituary
Richard Edward "Quincy" Adams passed away peacefully on November 25th, 2025 at age 79. He was born and raised in Winnsboro, South Carolina and was the son of the late Leslie and Iva Adams.
Mr. Adams joined the United States Air Force after graduating from Winnsboro High School in 1964. He often spoke fondly of serving in Germany at Ramstein Air Base and various other locations in Europe, including Greece and France. He served stateside at Lackland Air Force Base and Kelly Air Force Base in Texas. He was honorably discharged in September 1970.
He is survived by his children, Kevin (Liz), Ricky, Michael (Jessica), and John (Gina), 5 grandsons (Wyatt, Mason, Ben, Michael, and Charlie), 1 great grandson (Frazier), and his brother Charles Adams. He was preceded in death by his brother Steve Adams and sister Peggy Adams Truesdale.
Richard was employed as a guard at V.C. Summer Nuclear Station for over 30 years and made many friends during his time there. League bowling with his coworkers was his favorite pastime.
One of his final joys in life was watching his beloved Dallas Cowboys win a come-from-behind victory against the Philadelphia Eagles on November 23rd. He was overjoyed and was able to speak with his son Ricky to celebrate the victory.
His life will be honored on Dec 6th at 11am with a graveside service at Royal Pines Cemetery in Winnsboro, including military honors by the United States Air Force.
