He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnnie Ruby Trapp Griffin and Cleveland Griffin; his grandparents, Allie Mae Trapp and Wallace "Candy" Trapp; his wife Martha "Mot" Trapp; his daughter Rita Renea Trapp; his siblings, James Alfred Griffin and Stephanie Laverne Griffin; his brothers-in-law, Walter James Roseborough, Thomas Jason McConnell and Jessie James McConnell; and his friend Wade "Cliff" Coad.
He is survived by: his children, Crystal Clarisse Trapp and Tarrence Edward Trapp of Columbia, SC; his niece Sherry Davis (Kenneth); his granddaughter Darissa J. Stone; his great grandchild Karmelo A. Wadsworth of Jenkinsville, SC; his siblings, Beverly Henderson of Blair, SC, Sheila English of Blair, SC, Debbie Griffin of Blair, SC, Sharon L. Griffin of Columbia, SC, Clarence J. Griffin and Clemente Griffin of Winnsboro, SC; his cousin Clarence Lyles (Evenny); his mother-in-law Carrie Louise Williams McConnell of Winnsboro, SC; his siblings-in-law, Delois Ann Roseborough of Winnsboro, SC, Callie McConnell of Chester, SC, Elizabeth Coleman of Blair, SC, Mary Ruth McConnell of Blair, SC, Willie Earl McConnell of Chester, SC and Luther Hughes of Blair, SC; his aunt Naomi Trapp of Cleveland, Ohio; and his granddaughters, Iyanna Purnell Fluker and Courtney Epps Hopkins of Irmo, SC.. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Russell-McCutchen Funeral Home (324 S Vanderhorst St, Winnsboro, SC 29180). A funeral service was held on Sunday, October 19th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Gethsemane Baptist Church (443 99 Rd, Blair, SC 29015).
