She was predeceased by : her parents, Levi Newton and Florence Campbell Cromer; her former life partner Fred Raymond Johnson; and her siblings, Myra Sprouse, Sara Rollins, Calvin Cromer, Jimmy Cromer and Wendolyn Cromer.

She is survived by : her husband Billy James McLyea; her children, Selena Denise Johnson, Van Johnson (Beth) and Chris McLyea (Wendy); her grandchildren, Shaelyn Trail, Olivia Johnson, Blake Johnson, Casey Johnson and Chrisyn McLyea; her siblings, Ray Cromer, Nancy Hill, Dennis Cromer and Linda Ellison; and her niece Renae Sprouse.
