David Edward Turner Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Edward Turner of York, South Carolina, who passed away on November 22, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Sanford Turner and Macie Turner; his wife Betty Black Turner; his daughter Judy Ghorley; his grandson Michael Moody; and his sons-in-law, Mike Harvell, Jackie Ghorley and Richard Hayes.
He is survived by: his children, David Earl Turner (Roxane), Jean Harvell and Sandra Hayes; and his siblings, Tony Lee Turner (Karen) and Linda Griffin (Jack). He is also survived by five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 25th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home (2916 Union Rd, Gastonia, NC 28054). A memorial service was held on Tuesday, November 25th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the same location.
