She was predeceased by: her parents, William Boyd Hartness and Maybell Porter Hartness; her husband Luther Morgan Harris; her siblings, Clarence Rodney Hartness, Walter William Hartness, Billy Mason Hartness and Daisy Elizabeth Hartness; her sons, Bobby Joe Smith, Donald Wayne Smith Sr. and Richard Glenn Smith; and her stepchildren, Bruce Harris, Wayne Harris and Deborah Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Terry Michael Smith, Teresa Smith Parrish and Kenneth Wayne Laney Sr.; and her grandchildren, Robert Paul Corder (Mackenzie), William Boyd Corder (Brooke), Anthony Smith, Donald Wayne Smith Jr., Thomas Hawk Smith, Kenneth Wayne Laney Jr., Knoah Paul Laney, Darryl McGraw, Katie Ann Laney, Kenzie Laney Harris and Amanda McGraw. She is also survived by 15 great grandchildren 4 great-great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Beth Shiloh Presbyterian Church (1184 N Shiloh Rd, York, SC 29745). Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel (2133 Ebenezer Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29732).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mary's name to the Humane Society of York County.
