Richard Albert Cizek Obituary
Richard Albert Cizek, 77, of York, SC passed away on May 1, 2021. Born in New York City on May 1, 1944, son of Blanche Svoboda Cizek and the late Albert W. Cizek, Jr., Richard attended local schools on Long Island, NY graduating from Valley Stream Central High School in 1962 and earning a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1966 from Stevens Institute of Technology, where he was the Vice President of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity.
At the time of his death, he was employed at ELC Industries as Plant Manager. Richard was a member of the York ARP Church in York, SC serving as both a Deacon and an Elder. He was a model railroad enthusiast, a member of the Southern Piedmont Live Steamers and an avid New York Giants fan. Besides his mother of Middletown, CT, he leaves his wife of 51 years, Carol Newfield Cizek of York, SC, a daughter, Laura Cizek Dushaney and her husband, Nelson of York, SC, two grandsons, Colin Patrick Dushaney and Aaron Richard Dushaney, a brother, Albert A. Cizek and his wife, Joan of Higganum, CT, two nieces Emma E. Cizek of Denver, CO, Ellen M. Cizek of Boston, MA, several cousins and extended family.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, May 4th at 1:00pm at the Lakeview Memory Gardens in York, SC with the Rev. Jordan Bernard of the York ARP Church officiating.
