He is survived by: his former wife Ramona Joy Hawkinson; his wife Joy Metz; his sons, Russell Metz (Sabrina), Curtis Metz (Lindsey Schock) and Douglas Metz; his grandchildren, Sheridan Metz, Bentleigh Metz and Carter Metz; and his siblings, Mildred Robinson, Alice Pajorlie, Thomas Metz (Diane), Linda Buzalsky (Marty) and Howard Metz.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home (1111 S Main St, Aberdeen, SD 57401). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
