He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Dover and Amy Van Dover (Sieman); his siblings, Jerry, Donald, Daniel, Thomas, Phillip Van Dover, Veronica Van Dover and Margaret Davis; and his siblings-in-law, Dale Brooks, Dale Davis and Audrey Van Dover.
He is survived by: his wife Elaine Margaret Ruhoff; his children, Wade Van Dover (Cindy), Troy Van Dover (Julie) and Janeen Haas (Wayne); and his siblings, Owen Van Dover, Mark Van Dover (Linda Jo), Beverly Robinson (Bob) and Linda Brooks. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 at 9:30 AM. A rosary will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the Schriver's Memorial Chapel (414 5th Ave NW, Aberdeen, SD 57401). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (11 2nd Ave W, Westport, SD 57481).
