He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Kopetsky and Iona Kopetsky (Parvey); his in-laws, Charles and Ruth Hart; his siblings-in-law, Linda Phelps, Wanda Franz, Kerry Hart (Mara) and Chuck Phelps; his sibling's children, Scott Franz and Lori Franz; and his friend Irene Ashley.
He is survived by: his wife Barb; his sons, Gene Kopetsky and Charles "Chuck" Kopetsky (Joanie); his grandchildren, Dr. Tiffany MacDonald (Mawuli Wilson-Cee), Donovan Kopetsky, Brittany Schnell (Samuel), Nicole Kopetsky and Joseph "Joey" Kopetsky; his great grandchild Tobias Arthur Schnell; and his siblings, William Kopetsky of Nisland, SD and Alice Christianson (Blaine) of Fargo, ND. He is also survived by several brothers and sisters in law; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews.
Laverne's family prefers that memorials be sent to Aldersgate Church in lieu of flowers.
