She was predeceased by: her parents, Jacob Merkel and Flossie Merkel (Stevens); and her husband Michael Martin, Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Patricia Mewhinney, Michael D. Martin (Valerie), Brenda McEleney (Dennis) and Gordon Martin (Jody). She is also survived by eight grandchildren, nineteen great- grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Carlsen Funeral Home (1708 8th Ave NE, Aberdeen, SD 57401). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the same location.
