He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Loebs and Emgard Loebs (Mund); his sister Sharlene Chapman (Darrel); and his son-in-law Art Bustamante. He is survived by: his wife Helen Howell; his children, Sheila Loebs-Bustamante and John Loebs (Melissa); his grandchildren, Emma Loebs, Benjamin Loebs and Timothy Bustamante; and his brother Leslie Loebs (Darlene).
