He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Sanderson and Margaret Sanderson (Enger); his sister Orva Day; his in-laws, Lowell and Mary Prentice; his siblings-in-law, Kathy Sanderson, Gary Wahl and John Day; and his sibling's children, Sherri Sanderson and Shane Day.
He is survived by: his wife Deanna Prentice; his daughter Lori Skibbie (Jim); his grandson Michael Munsen; his siblings, Charles Sanderson and Naomi Wahl; and his siblings-in-law, Delton, Susan Prentice, Glenda and Doug DeVore. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Norg was deeply involved in civic life, receiving recognition for his service to the Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce, Aberdeen Area Jaycees, 4-H, RSVP, Sitting Bull College, was named a South Dakota Ambassador by Governor Richard Kneip, and was a member of the Northern State College Foundation President's Club.
