We announce the death of Ruby V. Thompson of Aberdeen, South Dakota, who passed away on October 29, 2026, at the age of 96. Ruby will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Daniel Pietz and Margaret Pietz (Schiermeister); her former husband Bill; and her daughter Carol Roesch. She is survived by: her spouse Willaim'Bill'Thompson; her children, Ronald Thompson (Kathy) and Debra Crompton; her grandchildren, Jennifer Glines (Tony), Carrie DeLaughter (Aaron), Daron Munro (Shawna), Jessica Black (Brian), Amanda Treloar (Bryan), Linda Roesch and Jeffrey Roesch; her sister Arlene Stratton; and her sisters-in-law, Emilie Pietz and Beverly Pietz.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 4th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home (1111 S Main St, Aberdeen, SD 57401). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 4th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
