It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vivian Malsam of Aberdeen, South Dakota, who passed away on November 25, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Vivian Malsam to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Adam Thomas and Jennie Thomas (Malsom); her husband Wilbert Malsam; and her brothers, Donald Thomas and Joseph Thomas.
She is survived by: her children, Melvin Malsam (Vania), Marvin Malsam, Wayne Malsam (Anita), David Malsam (Jolene), Margaret Schmidt (Doug), Julieann Dayton (Steven) and Carolee Owens (Bryan); her siblings, Berniece Mohr, Deb Huber (Bruce), Pauline Mertz (Ernie), Mary Thomas and Norbert Thomas (Cathy); her grandsons, Ethan Schmidt, Rodney Malsam, Jarin Malsam, Trevor Malsam, Dylan Owens and Cole Malsam; Mary Thomas. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 1st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, December 2nd 2025 at 9:30 AM. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, December 2nd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (502 2nd Ave SE, Aberdeen, SD 57401).
