He is survived by: his wife Frances Schilling; his children, Cheryl Olson (Ken Jensen), Terri Hasz (Leland) and Mike Rutschke (Susan Pearson); his grandchild Aubrey O'Connell (Jim); his great grandchildren, Brayden, Devynn, Amanda Zimmer (Mitchell) and Amy Veal (Josh); his sister Lorena Tislau; his aunt Idella Weisenburger; Nora, Caitlyn, Mason, Peyton, Tyler Hasz, Logan, Kristen Rutschke and Stephanie Rutschke.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 6th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Our Savior Lutheran Church - Aberdeen (624 N Jay St, Aberdeen, SD 57401). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 7th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
