He is survived by: his wife Betty Schaefers of Alexandria; his children, Greg Schaefers (Trish) of Alexandria, Glenn Schaefers of Alexandria, Barb French (Brian) of Tea, SD and Mary Schaefers of Brandon; his grandchildren, Jared Schaefers, Nick Schaefers (Traci), Justin Schaefers (Kristin), Lindsay Schaefers, Amanda Schaefers (Matt Sorenson), Ethan French (McKenzie), Tye Schaefers and Kady Sehr; his great grandchildren, Kenzie, Cohen, Carson, Vivian, Stella, Sophie, Jackson and Adalynn; and his siblings, Larry Schaefers (Deanna) of Mitchell, Elaine Schaefers of Mitchell, Evelyn Waldron (Keith) of Bellevue, NE, Margie Schaefers (Guy Sharp) of Pierre, SD and Marilyn Tobin (John) of Alexandria, SD.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the Will Funeral Chapel (210 E Green Dr, Mitchell, SD 57301). A prayer will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 6:30 PM at the same location.
