It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara (Leesch) Schaffer of Ashton, South Dakota, who passed away on November 29, 2022, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Ernest Leesch and Eulalia Leesch (Robinson); her children, Cathy Schaffer of Ashton, SD, Janet Wanttie (Tom) of Aberdeen, SD, Christine Lindberg (James) of Sioux Falls, SD, Dorothy Henderson (Jim) of Ellensburg, WA, Mark Schaffer of Redfield, SD and Douglas Schaffer of Ashton, SD.; her grandchildren, Jessica Cihak (Bradley), Brad Wanttie (Sarah), Tyler Wanttie, Nicole Wanttie, Kayla Beck (Derek), Ryan Lindberg (Mariah), Sam Lindberg, Brenna Erickson (Keith), Elizabeth Vick, Ben Vick, Rustin Schone, Emily McConkey (Keeley) and Andria Ruvalcaba; her siblings, Angela Hansen of Redfield, Ernest Leesch of Sioux Falls, SD and Deborah Leesch of Redfield; her brother-in-law James Gruenwald of Redfield; her husband Arthur Schaffer; her son Nicholas Schaffer; and her sister Margaret Gruenwald. She was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
