She was predeceased by: her parents, Ole Lysne and Bergetta Ekemo Lysne (Pete); her grandparents, Sami, Lindi, Kris, Tara and Bernie; her son Barry; her brother Alan Lysne; and her nephew Jimmy Lysne.
She is survived by: her husband Pete Hess; her children, Lori McNeese (Sherman Crabill) and Perry Hess (Andrea "Andi"); her brother Jim Lysne (Paulette); her sister-in-law Debbie Lysne; her grandchildren, Brandon McNeese, Quillan McNeese (Meg), Sami Hess, Lindi Hess, Tara Potter and Kristina Hess; and her pet Charli. She is also survived by 14 great grandchildren, one great great-grandchild, her nieces and nephews, cousin.
In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established in Bernice's name to the Arts for the Belle Fourche School.
