James K. DeSaix Obituary
It is with sadness that the passing of James K. DeSaix (Beresford, South Dakota) is shared. James, born on November 12, 1946, passed away on September 23, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
James will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Friends and family will honor James by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence he had in their lives. Though James is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. James’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Elizabeth Moon DeSaix and Quentin DeSaix; his parents-in-law, Lillian and Milton Wass; and his brother-in-law Richard C. Anderson.
He is survived by: his wife Sandy; his children, Darren C. Vik (Lisa), Daina DeSaix Austin (Lee) and Maren Louise DeSaix (David); and his sister Louise Anderson. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Wass Funeral Home (301 N 3rd St, Beresford, SD 57004). A prayer will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 6:30 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Beresford Zion United Methodist Church (47106 298th St, Beresford, SD 57004). The military honors will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the South Dakota State Veterans Cemetery (25965 477th Ave, Sioux Falls, SD 57104).
