He was predeceased by : his parents, Kenneth Ireland and Viola Ireland (Rames); and his wife Sandra Ireland. He is survived by : his former life partner Charlene Payne; his children, Josh, Jay Ireland of Phoenix, AZ, Jacki Ireland of Phoenix, AZ, Jill Ireland of Dell Rapids, SD, Jacob Ireland of Spencer, IA and Joshua Ireland of Jackson, MN; his grandchildren, Jack, Isabella, Aiden, Andrew (Ireland), Sophia, Idan (Jones), Pearl and Ruby (Weiland); and his siblings, Karen Orth of Loveland, CO, Wayne Ireland of Sioux Falls, SD, Mary Mathison of Sioux Falls, SD and Kathy Manning of Vermillion, SD.. He is also survived by his siblings, children and grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
