David Cline O'Banion Obituary

We are sad to announce that, on January 3, 2026, at the age of 85, David Cline O'Banion (Brandon, South Dakota) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Steven O'Banion and Francis O'Banion (Gray); his siblings, Betty Wright (Cline) and Herold O'Banion (Brenda); and his brother-in-law Ron Schmidt.

He is survived by: his wife Yolanda O'Banion of South Dakota; his children, Tonia O'Banion of California, Christine Murphy (John) of California, Tenna Barton of South Carolina, Tammie Messer of South Dakota and Sam Messer (Michelle) of South Carolina; and his in-laws, Sharon Schmidt of South Dakota and Lane Munger (Kristy) of South Dakota.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to a veterans' organization in his honor, reflecting his commitment to those who served alongside him.
